Professor Anna-Maria Belli qualified in 1980 from the Middlesex Hospital and underwent radiology training at St George’s Hospital, London before becoming a consultant in Sheffield. This was followed by the Hammersmith Hospital before she returned to St George’s in 1992.
She became a professor of interventional radiology in 2008 and is currently clinical lead for interventional radiology. In addition, Professor Belli was president of the British Society of Interventional Radiology from 2001 to 2003 and served on the interventional procedures advisory committee of NICE between 2002 and 2008. She served on the NICE clinical guidelines group for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding and the committee of safety of devices for the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority from 2000 to 2009.
Professor Belli is President of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe from 2013 to 2015.
