Dr Andrew Nicolaou is a consultant anaesthetist at St George’s Hospital, London. He is the care group lead for the chronic pain service which has a multidisciplinary approach to pain management and an inpatient pain management programme. He has championed the use of image guidance for pain interventions including ultrasound.

Dr Nicolaou has a strong interest in pain education and training, being the immediate past South Thames Regional advisor for Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists and  Chair of the London Pain Trainers Advisory Group at the London Deanery, which he was integral in establishing. He continues as one of the inaugural examiners for the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.  He is a co-opted Council member for the British Pain Society and a member of the Professional Standards Committee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
