How to prepare for an EEG
Before any appointment, you will be assessed by a Clinical Physiologist. This may be done in advance of your test or on the test day itself. All test results will be reviewed by the consultant who will explain them to you during your follow-up appointment.
- Have something to eat within two hours before the appointment to avoid periods of low blood sugar which may produce changes in EEG
- Arrive in good time with clean hair, free from grease, hair spray, hair gels etc.
- Wear comfortable clothing and an open necked, front opening shirt
- Bring a list of current medication with you
